With the shim kits that come with both shotguns fit the gun to the user has never been more versatile. I personally would go with the franchi, both guns will get the job done. The Benelli barrels will not fit the Franchi, location of the lug/recoil spring and the fact the Benelli barrel will probably set you back $500 makes this unfeasible and unrealistic. Winchester SX3 20ga had a full synthetic version at one time.This is right and results in a significant difference IMHO. In terms of cleaning, the Franchi Affinity is much simpler and requires fewer tools than the Benelli semi-autos (judging by the videos Benelli puts out - I only have first hand experience with the Franchi Affinity).
