I likes 'em both, but the 1100 is a bit more versatile. The 11-48 works best with at least 1 oz shot and a good velocity. The 1100 will cycle down to 3/4 oz. The 11-48 is better when tramping about for long distances in the woods, as it is at least half-pound lighter than the 1100..
