However, there are magic items, feats and spells that can help with that. Most "save" things are spells - which can be countered with Counterspell. Later on the level 14 ability to use spell slots to reduce damage will help as well.A bladesinger if you want to be in the middle of the fight, swashing them buckles, or a war wizard if you want to be the distant blaster, laying down a hail of death.
