Also the Uchigatana and Iaito have better movesets, and plus they are buffable which makes them do more damage anyways.uchigatana has a good moveset for pvp/pve and is considered one of the best dex weapons. did play with it on my first char after buying it from shiva. its da bomb on a dex buildalso some attacks work with the leo ring for ridicolous counter dmg. sure there are katanas with longer reach/higher ar but i just like how the uchi feels ;) 2.Nichtswisser May 10, 2014 @ 1:37pm. Uchigatana or Black knights halberd are very good weapons for a mage when you infuse them to the magic part you want. The Uchigatana is very light and has low requirements, buffed you can defend yourself in melee pretty well without having to put many points in dex/strength..
